Shlach Lecha
Imagine waking up thinking:
“The world is in a very bad place right now. Things are terrible. A miracle can’t change things, because there are no miracles. It’s going to get a lot worse. We’re going to be sicker. There will be more death, rioting, prejudice and murder. Humankind will never be truly happy. There’s nothing we can do about it”
Now, imagine waking up and thinking this instead:
“The world is in a place of change and growth. Everything that grows, the bird, the butterfly, has periods of pain, but these, too, shall pass. Happiness always returns to humanity. We open our eyes to history and see that turmoil is a painful yet beautiful period of growth. I am honored to see [bctt tweet=”all forms of this beautiful world. I am grateful for this moment, for this journey” via=”no”].”
Which way will you wake up?
This week’s portion of the Bible, Shlach Lecha, shows us that there are two ways to look at things in life. One is as a spy, the other as a tourist. The spy has a critical, negative, and cynical eye. Yes, it might be based on a feeling of reality, the spy’s eye lingers on danger, fear, the bad. The tourist, on the other hand, is excited and intrigued by the beauty in everything that life presents us.
Our way of being is a choice. We choose to see things as bad or good. If we complain incessantly about details that are wrong, we rarely will be able to “zoom out” to see the big picture of things improving with time. We choose to project negativity onto the world around us. Choosing to see the good, like a tourist, helps us understand that things can thrive and will get better.
Our History:
In this portion of the Bible, Moses sent twelve spies to Israel. They went to check whether there was war, whether it was an abundant country, and whether there were trees, specifically, the Tree of Life. When the twelve spies came back, ten of them said that Israel wasn’t the Promised Land. They didn’t see the Tree, and claimed it wasn’t there. Only two were able to look at the Land of Israel with the eyes of a tourist and were able to see the Tree of Life.
The Tree of Life cannot be seen if one’s consciousness and awareness aren’t elevated. If one is going to look for the Tree of Life with the negative notion that they won’t find it, that it doesn’t exist, that this isn’t the right land, and that everything is terrible, one will not be able to see the positivity that is around them. Because they let their negativity take over what they were really seeing, the ten spies couldn’t see the light. They couldn’t let reality triumph over their ego, which was set in a negative way.At the time, the land of Israel was called Kana’an, which means ‘to surrender.’ This name communicated the idea of surrendering ego, negativity, prejudice, control, and superiority. The spies who didn’t surrender their ego or their preconceived ideas about the land they were sent to scout, were unable to see its beauty and abundance, even though it was right there in front of them.
What do we take away from this?
When we look at the world with pain in our eyes and minds, we will only be able to see and think pain. That is because it is what we’re expecting to see, and that’s what we’re manifesting. If we wake up every morning with a conscious decision to only see the positive side of things, we will thrive, we will grow, and we will improve the quality of our lives. We can turn anything flawed into something good.
We can turn this virus, these protests, these murders, this sense of injustice, these riots, this sag in the economy–all of it–into something positive. But we have to see the good. We have to find the good in everything. People are angry now, and there is chaos, but this is a blessing. If we get enough people together to see the silver lining, we will be able to turn anything wrong into something good. The world today is making us come together. It’s making us realize that if just one person is still infected, we’re all at risk. That if one person is murdered for the color of their skin, we all are at risk. Our humanity, essence and sense of righteousness, equality, safety and health must be preserved as one people.
What can we do?
There are several things we can do to ensure we find the good and we are a catalyst for good. We can gather and meditate for positive thinking. We can meditate to manifest the end of the current situation (or the beginning of the actualization of the next phase of life). We also can be honest with ourselves, with each other, and with our community. We can also strengthen our communication with our spiritual teachers to improve our inner growth and spirituality.
Confessing to your spiritual teacher can be quite cathartic. When you confess to your teacher, they feel your pain. They hear you; they share the pain with you. It’s like cleansing yourself of all your negativity. If you cannot confess with your master or teacher, the negativity stays within you, and manifests itself around you. You become a liar as you suppress your true feelings and emotions, and whatever you look at will remain negative because of your flawed perception.
With a positive perspective, and ridding ourselves of negative thoughts and perceptions, we will become more aware and more able to see the Divine. When we let go of our negativity, we become more receptive to the Divine way, and more able to elevate ourselves to higher consciousness.
This week we can all raise ourselves from being oblivious to a higher level of awareness. The Divine wants the best for us. He whispers in our ears how much He loves us. We must open our ears, hearts and eyes to this “voice.” When we do this, we surrender ourselves and reach the next level. We rediscover the Tree of Life, our consciousness, and the Divine. When Moses sent the spies to Israel, he knew the Tree of Life was there. He did not doubt that the Tree of Life was in Israel. He wanted to know who was going to be able to see the tree and who wasn’t.
To reach the next level, we should try to see the best of everything. This is essential for elevating ourselves, for manifesting the positive outcome. If you make an effort to see the good, you change from being a spy to a tourist. A spy sees the bad. A tourist sees the good. Are you ready to see the good in every situation? Things don’t have to stay the way they are. It’s in our hands to turn our situation from negative to positive. As Mercury goes into retrograde, many things can change, and we can control how they change. We have to see the Tree of Life in every situation. Can you find your own Tree of Life? Can you see the good that’s around you? Can you contribute to the good around you?
We’d like to get 111 people meditating together online in one session– to change the world. Our plan is to create a digital event that will manifest this goal. How will you be a part of it? If we meditate and speak together about the good around us, the virus will disappear, the violence and the rioting will stop, and our problems will be resolved. This is a promise. Nobody can perform miracles alone, but with 111 people, we can put an end to the ongoing crises. So as we develop this, start asking yourself today, “HOW CAN I CONTRIBUTE TO THIS GOOD? HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL I BRING TO THIS? WHAT PERCENTAGE OF THE 111 WILL BE MY FRIENDS, FAMILY, AND ACQUAINTANCES?” Keep these questions in mind, and be prepared to help solve this issue with us as we create our digital meditation event in the next few weeks.
When you lose happiness, you lose your light.
This week’s portion has the power to immediately change everything in our life from negative to positive. If we can find the true message from the Creator in all the negativity, and discover that he is building the best for us, we can see the world as the beautiful place that it is.
He is asking us to surrender to Him so we can see what He sees. Our point of view is very limited while the point of view of the Divine is limitless. So this week choose the path and state of being that will take you to endless and limitless consciousness. Join us as we move forward in our positivity and change the world together. Continue your studies with us on an ongoing basis, and start the process of imagining how you’ll help us bring together the group of 111 to our meditation. We’ll be sharing our planning of this event shortly and look forward to seeing you soon.
